Action Required: Cybersecurity Incident Response

UIS experienced a cybersecurity incident this week. While this incident was caught quickly and intervention took place immediately, we are acting in an abundance of caution with 3 immediate actions.

Because incidents like this can have far-reaching effects, these actions allow us to safeguard everyone's account.

  • All users will be required to reset their password. For help resetting your password, please see our NetID & Password help page.
  • VPN access will be required to connect to Citrix. For help installing and connecting to the VPN, please see our article on AnyConnectVPN.
  • All VPN and Citrix connections will require two-factor authentication (2FA). For help signing up for 2FA, please see our Introduction to Multi-Factor Authentication.
    • When connecting to the VPN, you will be prompted for a second password. Enter 'push' to send a push token to the DUO app on your phone, enter 'sms' to send a text message to your phone, or enter 'phone' to call your phone. Do not enter the quotes.
