Undergraduate Undecided

The Undergraduate Undecided program allows students to explore a range of academic disciplines before choosing a major. This flexible approach gives students the opportunity to discover their interests and strengths while completing general education requirements.

With guidance from dedicated academic advisors, students can make informed decisions about their educational and career goals. The program supports a smooth transition to a declared major, ensuring students stay on track for graduation while finding the path that's right for them.

Theatre Minor

Upon declaring a minor in Theatre, the student will be assigned a Theatre faculty advisor. Theatre minors are encouraged to consult with their advisor as they plan their course of study.

Theatre, BA

Mission

The mission of the UIS Theatre program is to offer UIS students the opportunity to further develop their talents as theatre artists, by working with great dramatic literature in the classroom and on the stage. The program fosters the idea that theatre is a vital artistic event, which brings people together to respond to one another’s experiences/stories and to the world in which we live. Students who graduate from UIS with work accomplished in our theatre program not only become more sophisticated theatre patrons, but for some, may also begin a career in the theatre.

Secondary Education Minor

The Department of Teacher Education at UIS offers a minor in education that leads to licensure at the secondary level when combined with an appropriate academic major, fulfillment of general education requirements and fulfillment of campus requirements. Candidates seeking a bachelor’s degree and a minor secondary licensure should expect that their total program of study can usually be completed within the four year time frame but may exceed the minimum number of hours required for graduation.

Systems Security Graduate Certificate

The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Security, part of the Department of Computer Science, offers a comprehensive education in protecting digital information. Students will master the essentials of information security, including secure system design, security assessment and computer security ethics. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and labs for practical experience.
