UIS Scholarly Impact Award Guidelines

Purpose

To recognize leadership, accomplishments, and excellence in scholarship activities of tenured faculty. Although the scholarship may fit traditional notions of the scholarship of discovery, applicants who exemplify scholarship of application or integration are encouraged to apply.

One award of a non-instructional assignment (NIA) is given each year, to be used the following fall or spring semester. Recipients should coordinate with their department chair/head to schedule the NIA.

UIS Outstanding Teacher Award Guidelines

Purpose

To recognize the teaching accomplishments of non-tenure system faculty.

One $1,000 award for developmental purposes (conference attendance, research-related travel, commodities/supplies, subscriptions, equipment) will be given each year.

Who can be nominated?

Non-tenure system full-time faculty are eligible to be nominated for this award.

Who can make nominations?

UIS faculty colleagues may submit nominations for this award.  No self-nominations are allowed.

UIS Faculty Award for Diversity and Inclusion Guidelines

Purpose

To recognize faculty leadership, accomplishments, and excellence in professional activities that contribute to the institutional mission of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion, counteracting inequality and inopportunity, and contributing to struggles for inclusion of minority, marginalized, and/or historically under-represented groups.

One $1,000 award for developmental purposes (conference attendance, research-related travel, commodities/supplies, subscriptions, equipment) will be given each year.

UIS Early Career Scholarship Award Guidelines

UIS Community Engagement – Reciprocal Partnership Faculty Award Guidelines

Purpose

To recognize faculty leadership and teaching that creates fruitful engagement and collaboration within the community. This award recognizes faculty and their respective community partner who best represent reciprocal partnerships.

One $1,000 award for developmental purposes (conference attendance, research-related travel, commodities/supplies, subscriptions, equipment) will be given each year.

Who can be nominated?

UIS full-time faculty (tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenure track) are eligible to be nominated for this award.

UIS Community Engagement – Faculty Engagement Award Guidelines

Purpose

To recognize faculty leadership and teaching that creates fruitful engagement and collaboration within the community. This award recognizes faculty who create connections between their classrooms and the broader communities. This can include service learning, experiential courses, developing a learning community, and other scholarly and teaching activities in non-traditional arenas.

One $1,000 award for developmental purposes (conference attendance, research-related travel, commodities/supplies, subscriptions, equipment) will be given each year.

UIS Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award Guidlines

Purpose

To recognize the teaching accomplishments of UIS adjunct faculty.

One $1,000 award for developmental purposes (conference attendance, research-related travel, commodities/supplies, subscriptions, equipment) will be made each year.

Who can be nominated?

Adjunct faculty who have taught a minimum of 4 semesters in the previous 3 years at UIS are eligible to be nominated for this award.

Who can make nominations?

UIS faculty colleagues may submit nominations for this award.  No self-nominations are allowed.

University Scholars Award Program Guidelines

Purpose

Faculty excellence is the cornerstone of any university of high quality.  There is no more important task at the University of Illinois than attracting and retaining the very best teachers and scholars.  The University Scholars Program is designed to identify outstanding members of faculty who represent emerging scholars in their fields of study, and to provide each with a modest amount of funds annually for a defined number of years.  The importance of these awards lies in the flexibility with which the funds may be spent.&nbsp

Spencer Faculty Service Award Guidelines

Purpose

Pearson Faculty Award Guidelines

Purpose
