Santiago works at the Diversity Center for Hispanic/Latinx Outreach and is a member of the Necessary Steps Program. She chose UIS because of the Diversity Center, the Necessary Steps Peer Mentoring Program, and the integrated nursing program with UIC. Following graduation, she plans to become a nurse.
