Roof Work at FRH

Dear Campus Community, We are reaching out to inform you about an important upcoming project on the Founders Residence Hall roof. For the safety and integrity of the building, we must temporarily remove the green roof to inspect the underlying rubber membrane. This inspection will help us identify any areas needing repair and determine if replacement is necessary. We’ll use the results of the inspections to guide our planning and scheduling. While we don’t have a specific timeline yet, work may begin as early as Monday, August 5. |

Douglas Brackney named the UIS Employee of the Month for July 2024

Douglas Brackney has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for July 2024. He is an administrative aide in the Career Development Center. His supervisor, Katherine Battee-Freeman, said he is the type of employee that everyone wants on their staff. “He is a team player who brings positivity to the work and helps others to be their best selves,” Battee-Freeman said. “He is a positive role model outside of work helping to endear the greater Springfield community to UIS.” |
