The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE) works closely with academic departments to build and maintain assessment practices that facilitate continuous improvement of student learning at UIS. In August 2018, UIS was reaccredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). UIS participates in the Open Pathway Accreditation process, which is a ten-year cycle that focuses on assurance of quality and continuous improvement.Details of our assurance document can be found on the Institutional Accreditation webpage. In addition to our HLC institutional accreditation, UIS is proud of its college, academic departments, and programs that have achieved specialized accreditation.

In addition to supporting institutional and program accreditation efforts, OIRE serves as a strategic partner for collaborative projects and initiatives that aim to improve institutional effectiveness and operations.
