To support UIS faculty, staff, and student research, we provide resources, facilities, tools, and training materials. Workshops designed especially for students can be found on the Student Research and Scholarship Support website. Specific topics, such as Human Subjects Research and the Responsible Conduct of Research are also available. In addition, the staff of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs are available for classroom visits and workshops.

Grants.gov | The White House Office of Management and Budget has mandated that all 26 Federal agencies post their competitive grant opportunities here to facilitate ease in locating grants as well as downloading and submitting applications. Managed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the aim of this site is to eventually become the central repository for federal grant information. To view the latest news and information on the government grant system, follow the Grants.gov blog. In addition to posting on grants.gov, NSF has updated their website to include Funding Opportunity Search. To apply for an NSF grant, contact ora@uis.edu to help you set up a profile on Research.gov. |

NEH Summer Stipend | Please note that the NEH Summer Stipend is an individual application, so a START myResearch entry is not required; however, a nomination from the applicant’s dean is required with the submission of application materials. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is available to assist faculty set up a grants.gov (eRA) account. NEH offered a webinar that introduced the NEH Summer Stipends program. During the live presentation, NEH staff described the application and nomination process and offered application-writing suggestions. The webinar is available on the program's information page. The Summer Stipend application deadline is September 18, 2024. The award is $6,000 for two months. More information is on the program information page. |
GetEdFunding | GetEdFunding is a grant finding resource dedicated to helping educators, schools, and institutions identify funding opportunities, including funding for public and private pre K–12 schools and districts; awards for outstanding professionals; grants for teachers, media specialists, and administrators; higher education institutions; and nonprofit organizations offering educational programs. |
