As the interim Dean of the UIS College of Health, Science, and Technology, I'm excited and personally moved to introduce our blog series, deeply inspired by the transformative ideas in Leonardi and Neeley's book on the digital mindset. Reading this book was a revelation; it reinforced my belief in our profound responsibility and obligation at CHST.

Dear Students:

On Tuesday evening, Jan. 30, I will be co-hosting an information session for students with the Student Government Association, and I hope you can attend. The session will include brief UIS updates from me and SGA President Emmanuelle Yakana, and we will have several members of the UIS leadership team present to address student questions. Areas represented will include Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment and Facilities/Services.

UIS Information Technology Services IT Technical Associate Zach Logsdon has been named the 2023 Employee of the Year at the University of Illinois Springfield. He was honored during a reception on Jan. 25, 2024, in the UIS Student Union.

Before announcing the winner, UIS Chancellor Janet Gooch thanked the eleven Employees of the Month who were nominated for the award.

Logsdon, who was the December 2023 Employee of the Month, played an integral role in the launch of the new UIS Esports Arena.

We are excited to announce that the 2024 Retirement & Recognition Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 9:00-10:30am in the Student Union.

To ensure we are celebrating all honorees, please check our lists if you celebrated or will celebrate a 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 year milestone between 8/16/2023 and 8/15/2024.
