The UIS men's soccer team is poised to wrap up the regular season this weekend as they aim to secure a return to the GLVC Tournament. The Prairie Stars will face Upper Iowa on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup against Lewis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Friday's game will be Senior Night, while Sunday's game will be Faculty & Staff Appreciation and the annual Cancer Awareness Game. UIS Soccer to Host Cancer Awareness Games on Nov. 3

UIS Athletics, in partnership with Springfield Clinic and the American Cancer Society, will dedicate the soccer doubleheader against the Lewis Flyers on Sunday, Nov. 3 as the annual Cancer Awareness Games. Informational tables will be set up near the gate to Kiwanis Stadium, providing resources and information about cancer awareness and prevention.
Additionally, the first 100 fans will receive white beanies, and attendees are encouraged to "White Out for Lung Cancer" by wearing white to the games.

UIS Student-Athletes Unite to Make 1,500 PB&J Sandwiches for Local Community Groups

The UIS Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organized its second annual PB&J Springfield event this week, gathering student-athletes UIS athletic teams. The event saw 100% participation from UIS teams, resulting in 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches made for Springfield community organizations like Washington Street Mission, the Salvation Army, and local homeless shelters. With the help of Springfield Hy-Vee, a proud sponsor of UIS Athletics, the teams were able to make an even greater impact in supporting the community.
