The University of Illinois Springfield has appointed Wayne Davenport as associate vice chancellor for development, major gifts. He will begin his role on March 24.Davenport will oversee all development officers and major gifts programs at UIS. Additionally, he will serve as the primary development officer for the College of Business and Management.

The University of Illinois Springfield has released the names of the inaugural class of the Promising Prairie Star Recognition Program. This program, established by the Young Alumni Committee, honors outstanding graduates under the age of 40 or those who have graduated within the previous five years. The honorees are selected for their emerging and unique innovation, creativity and success in their chosen career or life's work.

UIS and the Center for State Policy and Leadership (CSPL) have been invited to partner in the Inaugural Edgar Fellows Capitol Connections Day.

The inaugural Capitol Connections Day for undergraduate college students interested in careers in public service will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, with morning sessions at the Illinois State Capitol and lunch and afternoon sessions at the Governor’s Mansion.  An optional tour of the Executive Mansion may be available at the end of the day. 

Human Resources presents the third annual Take Your Child to Work Day on April 24, 2025. We have a fun-filled day planned that includes a dorm tour, a slime activity, and a tour of the E-Sports Arena. We welcome up to 20 kids, aged 10-15 years old (7-9 years old with a parent present), to come and join us for the afternoon.
