The 2nd Password field is for two-factor authentication (2FA). In this field you will type the option below that aligns with how you authenticate with Duo Mobile for 2FA. |

UIS experienced a cybersecurity incident this week. While this incident was caught quickly and intervention took place immediately, we are acting in an abundance of caution and requiring that all UIS users reset their passwords. Please do so within the next 24 hours. After Friday, November 18 at 3pm CST, we will expire passwords for any user who has not yet reset their password and they will be forced to reset their password before they can login to any service. |

Oluwaniifemi Emmanuel of Lagos, Nigeria awarded a $32,000 scholarship from the University of Illinois Springfield

Oluwaniifemi Emmanuel of Lagos, Nigeria, who graduated high school from The Ambassadors College Ota, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $32,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in computer science. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements. |
CLASS Professor is Expert on Netflix’s I am a Stalker

Dr. Ryan Williams, associate professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UIS, has contributed his expertise to the popular Netflix documentary series, I am a Stalker. Production crew and campus interviews occurred in March 2022, and Williams spent hours speaking with the producers, who he says were “curious and open to listening to what the scholarly literature has found on the topic.” “Criminologists rarely get asked by the media to discuss crimes other than violent murders, which make up a small percentage of violent crimes,” Williams says. |
