UIS sees a 30 percent increase in the number of students taking online winter accelerated courses

The University of Illinois Springfield has seen a 30 percent increase in the number of students taking online winter accelerated courses. The courses started on Dec. 13 and last five weeks. A total of 331 students are enrolled in winter accelerated courses in 2021, up from 254 students in 2020. All of the 19 courses being offered are taught by full-time UIS faculty members. Accelerated courses provide students a unique opportunity to reach their educational goals faster. |

Kenady Clayburn has not only been an outstanding EXR student, but she’s also been an engaged EXR student throughout her time at UIS. She gained much practical experience as she worked as a student lead for campus recreation, while also working as a rehab aide at Athletico. In addition, she served as a YMCA camp counselor during the summers. |

Addison Bryant was awarded the EXR Graduation Marshal award which epitomizes the spirit and goals of the EXR program. As a member of the UIS Women’s Softball team, she successfully navigated the role of student-athlete by being on Dean’s List and Coaches Honor Role multiple times. In addition to being an excellent student, she takes an active role outside the classroom as well. |
