During emergency situations, Building Evacuation (Get Out) is an option. Only follow these actions if it is safe to do so. When in doubt, follow your instincts – you are your best advocate.

UIS Emergency Notification System

The UIS Emergency Notification System is used to quickly deliver critical information to the UIS campus community.

1. If indoors, seek refuge under a desk or table.

If you are a victim or witness a crime:

Report the incident to the UIS Police 206-7777 (or 6-7777 from a campus phone).

1. Most campus demonstrations are peaceful. Carry on business as usual, if possible. Avoid provoking or obstructing the demonstrators.
2. Should a disturbance occur, call UISPD at 206-6690.

1. Report spillage of a chemical or radioactive material immediately to 206-7777 or 911. Do not return to affected area.
2. Anyone who may be contaminated by the spill should avoid contact with others.
