University of Illinois Springfield senior Anna Schurz of Carbondale has been selected as the UIS recipient of the prestigious Student Laureate Award from the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Each year, only one UIS student is chosen for this esteemed honor.

University of Illinois Springfield students collected 9,074 pounds of food and grocery items during the annual Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods event on Sunday, Oct. 27. A total of 10 teams, comprised of more than 130 students, went door-to-door in Springfield neighborhoods.

The Sangamon County Board of Elections will be in the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week for early voting in the 2024 General Election.

NOTE: This polling place is only for residents in the following precincts: Capital 14, 21, 37, 60, 70, 82, 92, Woodside 02 and Woodside 04.

Students registered to vote with a campus address may use this location. On-site voter registration is available.
