Colton Kern of Williamsville, a senior at Williamsville High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $24,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in computer science.

The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

Last month, Dr. Liang Kong, Associate Professor of Mathematics, along with Dr. Yanhui Guo (Associate Professor, CSC), Dr. Xiaoqing Li (Professor, MIS), gave a very interesting and informative talk on ChatGPT! The title of their talk is

We are certainly in our “busy season” at UIS, with lots of exciting end-of-term activities, Springfest and final steps with most of our administrative searches.
